Mark Forshaw, owner, Fusion Education Consultancy Ltd
Mark has been involved in the automotive sector for nearly 40 years. After serving his apprenticeship with Merseyside Fire Brigade, he later moved into the further education sector as an automotive lecturer. He taught at the leading college in the southeast of England. He also managed apprenticeship programmes for major manufacturers like Mercedes-Benz and Peugeot.
More recently Mark has established Fusion Education Consultancy Ltd to provide consulting services to the automotive sector. He has worked with the IMI on projects including the training of further education teachers and students in China on electric and hybrid vehicle maintenance as well as the development of a programme for the automotive sector in Mexico.
Mark is very active delivering electric and hybrid vehicle training to technicians in the UK and consulting with education and training organisations over good practice in the delivery of electric vehicle training.
Mark has long standing links with the Middle East. Having first worked as a workshop foreman for the fire service at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, he also worked as a technical instructor and course developer for the UAE Armed Forces Technical Studies Institute.
More recently, Mark worked for the IMI as the international business development manager for the Middle East. During his time with the IMI, Mark was involved in many discussions regarding the international standards for training and qualification, particularly for countries with large migrant workforces.
Committed to his own development and that of others, Mark has gained a BSc from the Open University and an MBA in education management from the University of Leicester. He has teaching qualifications for further education (Certificate in Education and Secondary Education) and a Professional Graduate Certificate in Education with QTLS. More recently Mark has achieved IMI electric and hybrid vehicle qualifications at levels 2, 3 and 4.
