Supply issues stall JLR production

Jaguar Land Rover is suspending production at two UK factories from next week due to a shortage of parts.
It has announced its plants in Halewood and Castle Bromwich would shut from Monday due to a lack of computer chips.
Tata-owned JLR said: “We have adjusted production schedules for certain vehicles which means that our Castle Bromwich and Halewood manufacturing plants will be operating a limited period of non-production from Monday, 26 April.
“We are working closely with affected suppliers to resolve the issues and minimise the impact on customer orders wherever possible.”
Production at a third factory, at Solihull, will continue.
JLR is not alone in facing issues with parts supply. Ford is also facing a global shortage of chips, Renault has admitted the issue is worsening while Stellantis has resorted to replacing digital speedometers with older analogue ones in certain models due to supply chain issues.
