Claire Macfie is the editor of Automotive Refinisher, a collision repair specific platform for the South African and African market.
She grew up working in the family-owned automotive coatings distribution business and at an early age understood the ins and outs of candy apple colours, metal flake and other fun body shop concepts, while helping customers at the front desk. It’s no wonder that this industry is in her blood.
After studying public relations, it was an easy transition into journalism and marketing. As a motoring journalist, Claire keeps a firm grasp on what vehicle manufacturers are producing, which allows her a space to ask tough questions. She tries to increase the OEMs’ understanding of repair on behalf of an industry that has to repair these “mobile bank balances”.
Automotive Refinisher has been the voice of the local collision repair industry for 35 years and continues to tackle difficult issue. It highlights new repair technologies and strives to find the best solutions and outcomes for the body shop market as a whole.
