Dan’s lifelong love affair with cars started at age 10 when he watched a friend’s father paint a custom hot rod. Like most of us, he was instantly destined for a career in the automotive field in which he has now served for nearly 30 years.
Dan holds a degree in collision repair from St. Paul College in Minnesota as well as a BS in technology management from Bemidji State University.
He started his professional career as a collision repair paint technician and progressed to a position as a technical representative for a paint and allied material distributor before joining 3M in 2003. He started his 3M career in sales and expanded his experience as an application engineer, application engineering supervisor and is now director for the 3M Automotive Aftermarket division’s Global Application Engineering team.
Dan is an enthusiastic advocate for the skilled trades and has been a consistent champion of 3M’s involvement with career and technical schools and their continued involvement in SkillsUSA and WorldSkills.
