Toyota and NNT collaborate on connected cars

Toyota Motor Corporation has joined forces with telecommunications company Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (NTT) to develop a new ICT platform for connected cars.
The platform aims to tackle issues like road traffic accidents, congestion and the delivery of new mobility services with the goal of creating a Smart Mobility Society future.
Different sectors of NTT Group working alongside Toyota will be responsible for different areas of the project including: data collection, accumulation and analysis (Big Data) by NNT Data Corporation; ICT infrastructure and Internet of Things (IoT) by NTT Communications Corporation; next generation communications technology (5G) by NTT Docomo Inc; and edge computing and user-friendly services like voice control using Artificial Intelligence (AI) by NTT with assistance from NTT Group’s AI technology corevo.
