A Bristol-based team is on a 10,000-mile journey across Asia in a 1999 Nissan Micra worth just £400.
Bristol fundraiser Joe Scott and Osain Minogue, Aleix Gemino and Matt Sales are currently competing in the Mongol Rally taking in 20 countries, three deserts and five mountain ranges.
The race began on 18 July 18. Supported by Firestone, the team is aiming to raise over £1,000 for Cool Earth, which works to halt deforestation and climate change.
Joe said, ‘It’s going to be a huge challenge, because if you break down, you get no help and the terrain is uncompromising.’
The Mongol Rally started in Prague and finishes at Ulan-Ude in Southern Russia.
