Before joining Liva, she was Claims Director in different insurance companies with international experience and global presence like RSA Group, and with experience as Legal & Compliance Head in Zurich, ING.

Maria also had experience working in Insurance Regulator (the Central Bank) where she was responsible for the identification of the regulatory challenges and market needs, developed innovative solutions based on international standards, and successfully adapted these to the national financial sector.

Throughout her career, Maria has supported business in assessing the impact of global and local regulatory requirements on their business plans and processes, as well as in implementing these requirements into their strategies, with an understanding of financial markets and experience in both advising market participants and in regulatory work, she brings ideal qualifications for compliance positions. As a Claims lead, she has successfully transformed claims operations to support companies to be market leaders in their segments and regions by building strong relationships and networks, developing claims strategy, innovative decisions and customer-oriented solutions.
