GHOSN GRANTED BAIL IN JAPAN

Carlos Ghosn has been granted bail by a Tokyo court. The architect of the Nissan, Mistubishi and Renault alliance has been charged with financial misconduct, but could be released today after two previous requests for bail were denied.

The courts set bail at £6.8m.

The 64-year-old has been in custody since his arrest last November on allegations he understated his income at Nissan. Following his arrest, Nissan and Mitsubishi removed him as chairman. Renault initially kept him on as chair, but he resigned from the French carmaker in January.
