IBIS Latin America 2023 event overview

The second in-person IBIS Latin America event took place on 13 July as part of INA PAACE Automechanika Mexico City. Continuing the IBIS 2023 theme “Sustainable Strategies for Success”, the packed conference agenda provided attendees with valuable insights into the latest trends, best practices, and innovations in the Latin American collision repair market.

Moderated by IBIS CEO Jason Moseley, the event included a fascinating interview with Daniel Salcido, president LATAM North and VP Refinish LATAM at Axalta Industrial Coatings where the conversation focused on the key sustainable strategies for success for the future of the collision repair industry.

This was followed by an in-depth presentation from Francisco Ponce, managing director and president LATAM at Repairify, on the future of bodyshop technology and strategy. Other discussion topics included bodyshop know-how and training, future bodyshop training strategies, as well as an opening presentation by GiPA’s Oscar Balcazar who gave an overview on the Latin American market.

Hours before the start of IBIS LATAM, IBIS was honoured to take part in the INA PAACE Automechanika opening with Jason Moseley joining the ribbon-cutting ceremony to declare the exhibition open.

Moseley was also part of the INA PAACE Automechanika Future Forum sessions which took place on 14 July. Leading a discussion on global collision key trends, he was joined on stage by Francisco Ponce from Repairify, José Antonio de Larrañaga Roch, area division leader from 3M LATAM, and Marcelo Herrera, business development and M&A director for Latin America for Axalta.
