Max Sorensensenior vice-president of operations, Caliber Collision

Max-Sorensen

Max Sorensen serves as senior vice-president of operations for Caliber Collision overseeing approximately 375 collision centres in the Midwest and Northeastern regions of the United States. He previously led operations for the Eastern division at ABRA (Autobody Repair Centers of America) prior to a merger with the Caliber family of brands.

Max was introduced to the automotive repair industry at a very young age, sweeping floors at his father’s transmission mechanic shop in Philadelphia. He began in the collision industry as an autobody detailer at Keenan Autobody, a small MSO shop, in 2003, growing in his passion and responsibilities as quickly as possible. Within five years at Keenan Autobody, he was elevated to general manager of the company’s largest facility. Following the ABRA merger of Keenan Autobody in 2015, Max served as district manager overseeing seven facilities. Max was later promoted to the Market Vice President of the Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware market which grew to more than 40 centres. He continued his leadership journey as a Senior Vice President of the entire Eastern division shortly before the brand was acquired from Caliber Collision.

Max loves the business; however, his true passion is educating young people about the collision repair industry and helping them reach their full potential. He was instrumental in establishing Caliber’s Technician Apprentice Program (TAP). The purpose of TAP is to create a learning environment for aspiring auto body technicians to acquire the skillset necessary to begin a long and successful career in the collision repair industry. Bringing new talent into the industry is his goal.

Max is happily married to his wife, Heather, and is a father to triplets who keep him busy riding ATVs, ice skating, and playing hockey. Outside of work, Max enjoys spending time outdoors at either the beach or the mountains with his family.
