Automechanika searches for top-mechanics

Automechanika Kuala Lumpur is looking for the best mechanics in Malaysia to compete in the Mechanics Challenge to be held during the exhibition.
Taking place from 23–25 March 2017 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia the show is expected to welcome 300 worldwide exhibitors and 8,000 global buyers to the 7,465sqm exhibition space spanning four halls.
Organisers are urging independent workshop mechanics to throw their hat in the ring for a chance to compete in the challenge for the top independent mechanics in Malaysia. Eight teams will compete for the title of Automechanika Kuala Lumpur Mechanics Challenge 2017 champions.
Mazda will be providing the cars on which the competitors will be performing diagnostics and repairs. Mazda’s Mr Shamsuddin Amran, divisional manager, aftersales, Bermaz Motor Trading Sdn Bhd, explained the company’s desire to continue to be the vehicle sponsor for the contest and said, ‘This event is well-known among mechanics in Malaysia. As a car sponsor for this event, it gives us a good opportunity to enhance the awareness of the Mazda brand as well as to share Mazda’s highly acclaimed SKYACTIV Technology with the automotive community. It is also the company’s corporate social responsibility to develop young talents to upgrade their skills competency to keep abreast with the latest vehicle technology.’
Other industry supporters of the Mechanics Challenge include: The Federation of Automobile Workshop Owners’ Association of Malaysia (FAWOAM), The Federation of Engineering and Motor Parts Traders’ Association Malaysia (FEMPTAM) and Persatuan Pengusaha Industri-Industri Bengkel Malaysia (PPIBM).
The Mechanics Challenge is organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, Malaysia Automotive Institute (MAI) and the Department of Skills Development of Malaysia (JPK). Automechanika Kuala Lumpur is organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, co-organised by MAI and is strongly supported by the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE). Additional promotional support is provided by the Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau’s (MyCEB) and various other local and overseas industry associations.
