Bosch plans to acquire all shares in the Italian company Albertini Cesare S.p.A. It hopes this move will enable it to supply cast parts for its electric steering systems.
Headquartered in Villasanta, near Milan, Albertini currently employ more than 400 people at two locations in northern Italy.
Albertini primarily manufacturer die-cast aluminium housing for electric steering systems which Bosch plans to integrate into its Automotive Steering division which currently employs around 15,000 associates in twelve countries.
The plan is subject to approval by the antitrust authorities.
Last week a shortage of components halted production of some BMW models in Germany, China and South Africa.
