GM replace head of Cadillac

According to Reuters, General Motors announced that it was replacing Johan de Nysschen as head of its Cadillac brand.

Johan will be replaced by Steve Carlisle, the current managing director of GM’s Canadian Operations.

‘Looking forward, the world is changing rapidly, and, beginning with the launch of the new XT4, it is paramount that we capitalize immediately on the opportunities that arise from this rate of change’, said GM president Dan Ammann.

Regardless of bold plans and programs for Cadillac, Johan’s dismissal was due to a loss in Cadillac’s sales in America, which decreased by 8% and sedan sales that dropped by 27.4%. Although Cadillac’s sales steadily grew over 2017, the brand still trailed.

Johan’s replacement has come at a great time of change for the company, who saw their former brand marketing chief resign only months ago.
