Ian Pugh began his career as an apprentice technician with a Ford main dealer before moving on to become a Motor Engineer for the insurers RSA Group and Direct Line. He then held senior positions in repair network management and engineering with Norwich Union Insurance (Aviva).
In 2004, he became Operations Manager for Allianz (UK) Insurance before joining Audatex in 2007 as Head of Client Relationships, where he successfully achieved annual double-digit revenue growth.
In 2011, Ian became Managing Director for vehicle repair franchise Fix Auto UK. During his tenure, Ian has been responsible for significantly growing the business’ revenue and for delivering sustained double-digit annual EBITDA growth through a 250% increase in franchisee numbers. He has also secured repair contracts with six blue-chip motor insurers. The Fix Auto brand has since become one of the most well recognised and respected repair networks in the UK collision repair market
In November 2014, Ian was named a UK Body Repair Industry Knight, and is one of only eight people in the UK collision industry to have been handed the prestigious award.
In 2018, Ian devised a strategy of blended ownership, which saw Fix Auto UK invest in a number of their UK franchisees and acquire an independent bodyshop. This has transitioned the franchisor/franchisee model into a long-term business partnership model.
Ian lives in Northampton with his wife Lorrie and three children and is a keen motocross enthusiast.
