IBIS Middle East 2024 Event Review

The IBIS Middle East 2024 conference in Dubai was a resounding success, drawing industry experts and pioneers from across the globe. Taking place on the 20 – 21 February, the event began with a relaxed networking drinks reception, situated on the pool-side lawn of Le Méridien Dubai Hotel & Conference Centre. The evening reception brought delegates together before the full-day conference began the following morning.

Opening the conference, IBIS CEO, Jason Moseley thanked all the attendees for joining the event before highlighting the 2024 IBIS roadmap, showing all the countries IBIS will be visiting this year. Before handing over to IBIS moderator, Robert Snook, to manage the day’s content, Mr Moseley was presented with a gift from IBIS partner, Kayan, for bringing IBIS Worldwide to Riyadh back in November 2023. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia ceremonial sword will be a treasured gift by the IBIS Worldwide team.

The event ignited insightful discussions on sustainability, especially in the wake of COP28, with delegates contemplating the sector’s strides toward Vision 2030. The sessions were brimming with innovative thoughts, ranging from global bodyshop practices to OEM strategies that shape the industry’s future.

The morning commenced with a robust dialogue on the summit’s outcomes, emphasising the industry’s shared duty to foster a sustainable environment. The session, featuring thought leaders like Raya Makawi from 3M, Adam Ridgway from One Moto Technologies, and Stephen Louis from Axalta laid the groundwork for the day’s theme: Transforming Tomorrow Together.

As the event unfolded, the TV-style ‘Embracing Change’ segment stood out, connecting live with bodyshop owners worldwide, revealing success secrets and transformative strategies. The discussion on ‘Red Hot Topics’ like pricing models and technological hesitancy resonated with the audience, evoking an open mic exchange that reflected the industry’s pulse.

Post-lunch, the ‘Insurer Innovation’ panel, opening with a keynote presentation from Frederik Bisbjerg, demystified the digital transformation of insurance, provoking debate on AI’s dual-edged impact. The ‘Tomorrow’s World Today’ panel was a glimpse into the future, exploring technologies revolutionising operational efficiency.

The event’s culmination was a forward-looking debate on ‘What Does Good Look Like in the Region?’, a collaborative vision sculpting session for 2030. IBIS Middle East 2024 closed with a reaffirmation of the community’s commitment to elevate safety, skills, and standards, leaving attendees inspired to steer the industry toward a unified vision.

Each interaction, whether during coffee breaks or networking lunches, was an opportunity to foster connections that extend beyond the event’s horizon. As delegates dispersed, the air buzzed with the promise of innovation, collaboration, and transformation, earmarking another milestone year for IBIS Middle East.
