Plasnomic has announced the appointment of Mario Dimovski, director of circular repair and innovation at the Boyd Group in the United States, as the head of the global Plastic Repair Alliance Council.
The council is an elite coalition of industry leaders dedicated to advancing and supporting the implementation of the highest global standards for plastic repair practices, tools and processes across the global collision repair industry.
Leadership and vision
Brian Driehorst, CEO of Plasnomic, said: “Mario’s leadership, vision and global perspective make him uniquely qualified to guide this council. He has been instrumental in shaping the future of plastic repairs.
“It’s staggering to consider that Dimovski has directly repaired and overseen more than one million plastic part repairs over his career. His technical hands-on skills and depth of experience are unmatched in the industry, firmly placing him in a league of his own. His appointment, unanimously supported by council members, marks a defining moment in the evolution of plastic repair standards.”
Dimovski said: “I’m deeply honoured to take on this role. This moment represents far more than a personal achievement; it’s a turning point for the industry.”
Dimovski said the global collision repair industry has a unique opportunity to bring alignment to a fragmented space and champion repair-first plastic solutions.
“By working together, we can establish plastic repair as a trusted, standardized discipline and fast-track the adoption of best practices across both collision repair and the broader circular parts ecosystem,” he said.
Plastic repair apprentice
Dimovski began his journey in plastic repair at the age of 16, starting as a plastic repair apprentice. Over the past three decades, he has become a driving force in the industry, leading innovation as an employee, business owner and board member. His leadership in the evolution of plastic repair has set a higher standard for filler-free processes, driven the development of proprietary tools, and led to the formulation of compatible materials that improve repair outcomes.
Driehorst said these contributions have significantly expanded the definition of “repairability” and influenced how bodyshops approach plastic repair, thus reshaping implementation strategies across multiple continents.
Widely recognised as a change agent, Dimovski works at the Boyd Group, which operates nearly 1,000 accident repair centres across the US and Canada. He also contributes to the industry as a regular columnist for Bodyshop Magazine and as a Global Ambassador for IBIS Worldwide.
Cross-regional coalition
The Plastic Repair Alliance Council, comprised of a diverse, cross-regional coalition of the collision repair industry’s most senior advocates, experts and innovators, plays a vital role in supporting a multi-layered approach to communication, education and curriculum development that elevates quality, safety and operational efficiency.
Under Dimovski’s leadership, the council will formalise its operational framework, expand its global reach and strengthen strategic partnerships with repair networks, plastic repair specialists, OEMs, training bodies and supply chain leaders.
This announcement marks another major leap forward for Plasnomic under the leadership of Driehorst, who continues to guide the organisation’s operational execution and collaborative strategy. Through its expanding global network, Plasnomic is forging strategic alliances with leading MSOs and manufacturers to advance globally recognised certification programmes, approved tools and unified best practices in plastic repair across the globe.
