Okan is a senior insurance executive with more than 25 years’ corporate experience.
During his professional career, he has spent 14 years in top executive and CEO roles. Okan is currently MD and country head for Guy Carpenter.
Between 2006 and 2014, he was CEO of Eureko (Garanti) Sigorta, part of Achmea, a Dutch insurance company. He has also worked as a board member for the Association of Insurance Companies and for various other industry organisations.
Alongside his executive career, Okan is passionate about innovation, digitalization and startup ecosystems. He is an insurtech enthusiast and his aspiration is to develop an insurtech ecosystem in Turkey. He is insurtech programme lead in KOOP which is a fintech hub. He supports startups as a mentor in various incubation and acceleration programmes.
Additionally, Okan writes a column in a monthly insurance magazine about new generation insurance, disruptive technologies and digitalization.
