Samsung battery addresses range anxiety

Samsung has unveiled a battery that it claims can give electric cars a driving range of up to 310.7 miles on a 20 minute charge.
The South Korean company said the battery can offer a complete driving range of up to 373 miles, with a 20-minute charge giving the battery 80 per cent capacity.
‘This means that only 20 minutes in the highway rest area will be enough for a battery to be charged, eliminating the range anxiety of electric vehicle drivers,’ Samsung SDI said in a press release.
Mass production of the cell is scheduled to begin in 2021.
