Dr. Akbar JaffariChief Executive, JAFCON Consultants
Dr. Akbar Jaffari is the Chief Executive of JAFCON Consultants. Established in 1990, JAFCON were the first Arab firm specialised in productivity consultancy within Bahrain and the region. Today, he and JAFCON have now provided consultation to over 700 American, British, Arabian, and Bahraini companies on Productivity and Performance Measurement, Key Performance Indicators, Organizational Excellence Assessment, Human Resources Management and Development, Research and Development, Strategic Planning and other management services.
He is a Visiting Speaker on Economics & Management at Cambridge University, UK, an Assessor with Performance Excellence Programme (Dubai Government), an Arbitrator and Expert with the Gulf Cooperation Council Commercial Arbitration Centre, and a Visiting Lecturer on Engineering Economics and Human Resources Management at the University of Bahrain.
Dr. Akbar was one of 17 international inductees to receive a Fellowship at the World Academy of Productivity Science during the World Productivity Congress held in Canada in 2015 – the first Arab to receive such an honour. He is currently Vice-Chairman of the Trade and Retail Committee with Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Founder Member of the Bahrain Society for Training & Development.
Dr. Akbar Jaffari also has a Ph.D. in Management & Economics from London School of Economics (LSE) – University of London, a M.Phil in Management from University of Buckingham. He also has other fellowships with Chartered Institute of Management, U.K (FCMI), Institute of Management Services, U.K (FMS), Institute of European Industrial Engineers (EUROIE), and American Institute of Industrial Engineering (MIIE).
He is the author of the book titled “Performance of Manufacturing SME’s in Fluctuating Oil Economy – The case of Bahrain”.
