Ben’s collision industry career started in 1982 as an apprentice panel beater/spray painter, before progressing to own his collision repair business from 1986-1999. He then became a motor loss assessor from 1999-2010, progressing from senior on road assessor to managing a team of loss assessors on the Gold Coast. Following that, Ben joined MTAQ from 2010-2014 looking after the BRD before joining Car Craft QLD in February 2015 where he has been General Manager since 2018. He chaired the BRD committee from 2016-2019, sat on the Board of the MTAQ and the MTAQ Executive Board and is currently the Vice Chair for the BRD Committee for the MTAQ.
While doing all that, Ben also initiated a “Future proofing the Industry” event in Brisbane in June 2023 facilitated by MTAQ. Out of the top five issues identified two related to Labour; skilled and schools. He led the mapping of potential solutions, activity and stakeholders and is now personally driving activity and engagement across organisations such as MTAQ and ACIA as well as industry and partners and work providers.
