José María Galofré is the CEO of Volvo Car España, with a distinguished background in the automotive industry. He holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros Industriales in Madrid and a Master’s in Environmental Management from CEPADE.

Galofré began his professional journey in the automotive world with the SIMPSON Group of dealerships. He later founded and led EUROTAX in Spain and played a pivotal role in establishing DEKRA in the country.

In 2000, he joined Volvo Car España as Commercial Director, and since 2005, he has served as the company’s CEO. His leadership and contributions to the automotive industry were recognised in 2006 when he was awarded by FACONAUTO as the most highly regarded executive in the sector.

Beyond his role at Volvo, Galofré has been an active member of the automotive community, serving on the Board of Directors of ANFAC since 2019. In 2022, he was appointed President of the Spanish-Swedish Chamber of Commerce. His influence in the mobility sector was further acknowledged in 2024 when he was named one of the “Top Ten Influential Figures in Mobility” by Negocios TV and one of the “Top 25 e-Mobility Influencers” on LinkedIn.
