Steve left school at 15 and commenced his Spray-Painting Apprenticeship in New Zealand. He came to Australia in 1988 after a major hailstorm, with the promise of good money, accommodation, and a flight back home after 3 months of service. After returning home, he realised Brisbane was where he wanted to be. Steve worked in various shops around Brisbane and an opportunity to purchase Northside SR arose and he took it. Steve was around twenty-three at the time and did not have the first clue how to run a business. This shop was a 2-man operation, and he was quickly introduced to the everyday life of a business. Since then, he has been fortunate over the years to meet and engage with professional and industry mentors, business coaches. Steve has participated in various personal growth courses, which have gifted him knowledge, confidence, and strength, which he has now used to expand to three sites and over forty amazing people.
