Vinay Surana serves as the Managing Director (Asia Pacific, Middle East & Africa) for Allianz Partners, where he steers the company’s business across over 20 markets spanning Australasia, Asia, and Africa. With a distinguished career spanning 23 years in the insurance and financial services domain, Vinay brings a wealth of global expertise to his role.
Renowned for his adeptness in driving business growth and profitability, particularly in emerging markets, Vinay has repeatedly showcased his prowess in executing successful business transformation and change management strategies. He has a proven track record of successfully establishing and expanding startup insurance ventures across Asia and North America. Moreover, Vinay has been instrumental in introducing innovative, award-winning products and AI-enabled digital solutions in various markets through strategic collaborations with technology startups.
Vinay’s leadership is characterized by his unwavering passion and empathy, evident in his consistent cultivation of high-performing, agile teams across diverse countries and cultures. His dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion shines through in his proactive advocacy and implementation of initiatives aimed at fostering a sustainable, inclusive, and safe workplace and communities.
Prior to his role at Allianz, Vinay held the position of Senior Vice President, Asia Pacific Head of Individual Personal Insurance at AIG Inc., based in Sydney and Tokyo. During his 13-year tenure at AIG, he held several senior leadership roles in Commercial and Consumer Insurance across Asia, North America, and Australasia. Vinay commenced his professional journey in Public Accounting with Ernst & Young in India, later transitioning to Risk and Operational Consulting roles in North America and Europe.
He is a qualified member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India since 2003 and holds an Honors degree in Commerce from the University of Calcutta. Recently, Vinay completed the One-year Executive Leadership Diploma Program ‘Asian Leadership in Financial Institutions’ from the National University of Singapore (NUS).
