Virtual tour of tomorrow’s workshop

Visitors to Autopromotec 2017 will be able to go on a virtual tour through the bodyshop of the future, seeing what technologies will be available and how the role of professionals will change.

Autopromotec takes place in Bologna, Italy from 24-28 May.

The OFFICINA 4.0: Proof of Concept project is an exclusive preview and responds to the deep changes that are redefining cars themselves and the way they interact with the outside world. New technologies will require independent workshops to change deeply in order to keep up to date and be competitive.

The use of electronics in vehicles and the amount of information that can be provided by the diagnostic system are extensive and varied, opening up new scenarios and opportunities for the world of repairs. The increasingly connected vehicle will record and send its driving data constantly, along with information on its operational status and the stresses to which its various components are subjected.

Thanks to an intelligent and thorough reading of its data, it will be possible to remotely track the ‘health status’ of customers’ vehicles in real time, and, if necessary, advise the owner to service the vehicle in a preventative manner.

This will lead to a more accurate relationship with the consumer, a more timely service, a significant increase in the quality of the services offered and a reduction in the time dedicated to maintenance.

The tour of OFFICINA 4.0: Proof of Concept lasts about 20 minutes and can be booked at the beginning of May through the exhibition website, www.autopromotec.com
