Alliance executives to meet today

Executives at Nissan, Mitsubishi and Renault are meeting today for the first time since Carlos Ghosn, who initiated the three-way alliance, was arrested.

Mitsubishi and Nissan have already removed him as CEO, and although he remains CEO at Renault the French company say he has been ‘incapacitated’.

It’s understood that the meeting, via video link, will include Nissan chief executive Nissan Hiroto Saikawa, Renault’s interim boss Thierry Bollore and Mitsubishi executive boss Osamu Masuko.

The alliance, which uses shares factories and joint purchasing power to reduce costs, is not said to be under threat.

Renault, as the dominant member of the alliance, names the CEO.
