Timur Selçuk Turan was born in Germany in 1972 and completed his primary and secondary school education in Istanbul before studying at Pertevniyal High School. After completing his undergraduate degree at Anadolu University Faculty of Economics, he took marine insurance training at the Turkish Insurance Institute.

He holds a certificate of expertise in Full Stack Software and Database from a private educational institution.

After working in the family company for a certain period of time, he started his insurance career at Şeker Insurance in 1997, and worked professionally in managerial positions in the claims departments respectively, Kapital Insurance, Batı Insurance and Ak Sigorta, until 2003.

After 2003, he became an entrepreneur and co-founded and managed companies operating in the insurance industry in the fields of claims management systems, claim calculation catalog solutions, spare parts supply and automotive process software.

He is currently the vice president of TOSEF- All Auto Services Federation, a non-governmental organization, and a member of the board of directors of TOSAŞ.

He is currently co-founder of OtoKonfor Information Technologies Incorporation, is a technology startup in the automotive after-sales services vertically, and the general manager of Tur Assist.

He is married and the father of a daughter.
